WordCamp – Day II : “WordPress for Corporate Blog”

Next conference session is with Nukman Luthfie, CEO Virtual Consulting.
As always, he started the session with some jokes (adult joke included) and it succeed to make people staring and listening his presentation :-)

Below are the notes:

  • People lost visitor because they cannot update consistently
  • Most corporate sites are :
    - talking about theirself in one way (ex. menu ‘About Us’)
    - just copying their company profile into website
    - formal corporate style copy writing
  • Because of above reasons, corporate sites do not receive a lof of traffic and 70% visits exit within 30 seconds
     
  • The cluetrain manifesto : markets are conversation
     
  • There is some kind or separation like a membrane between the company and customer. And the more porous the membrane, the easier it is for conversations between company and user
     
  • Corporation that goes (thus, get some features on doing conversation) are :
    - Tempo
    - Blitzmegaplex
    - Kompasiana
    - Maverick
     
  • vs Corporate culture
    In many cases, a is not right for your company. Some companies, simply do not have the ability to tolerance a human voice
